Stampin' Up! Botanical Blooms Card in a Box

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

Welcome to the December Pootles Birthday Club Blog hop. It was my Aunties 80th Birthday at the beginning of December so that means I can take part in this hop. Stupidly though I forgot to take a photo of the card I made for her so here is a similar card I made for a friend who celebrated her 40th birthday earlier this year.

Botanical Blooms Card in a Box, Special Birthday Card

I absolutely love making these Card in a box cards. They are a real labour of love as they take around 8 hours to make from start to finish but they are so stunning that it's worth the effort.

Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo

For my Aunts card I used slightly different colours, So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Blushing Bride with Pear Pizzazz for the leaves, so just a little more subtle than this card.

I think the Botanical Blooms bundle is absolutely perfect for these cards as the flowers are all different sizes but look fabulous together. Unfortunately the set has now retired but I will be keeping hold of mine.

Here's close up of the flowers, don't the faceted gems look stunning as the flower centres?

Stampin' Up! Bundle of Love DSP Thank You Cards

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

Welcome to the Crafty Cupcakes Team Stampin' Up! Blog Hop for November 2017. Each m

onth members of the Team take part in our Team Blog Hop to share with you our cards and projects made using the fabulous Stampin' Up! products. You are currently visiting Jillian Selwood from the UK and below you will see the full list of everyone taking part. To move to the next blog just click the name after mine in the list.

Thank You Cards using Stampin' Up! products

The theme for this month is Thankful. Whilst we don’t celebrate thanksgiving here in the UK I do love to send Thank you cards - any excuse to make and send a card! There is always something or someone to be thankful for so it’s just nice to be able to recognise it.

For these Thank you cards I used the Bundle of Love Speciality Designer Series Paper, this beautiful paper is double sided, on one side it’s either Blushing Bride or Soft Sky and on the other side it’s cream and gold.

Blushing Bride Thank You Card, Painted Harvest Stamp Set

Soft Sky Thank You Card, Bundle of Love DSP

So I started the cards with a base of Very Vanilla thick cardstock and used a mat of either Soft Sky or Blushing Bride. Then I embossed the sentiment on the bottom - ‘I am thankful for you’ this comes from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. Then I cut some small strips from the DSP and adhered them above the sentiment. I then punch out three circles using the new Starburst Punch in all three Designs. These were adhered to the front of the card using two of the coloured side and one of the gold side.

Finally, I die cut the smaller flower from the Flourish Thinlet dies and adhered this on top of the two strips of DSP at the bottom of the card before adding a gold Faceted gem to the centre. I was rather pleased with how these turned out and I really hope the recipients like them too.

Crafty Cupcakes Design Team August 2017 Week 1

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

I am delighted to have been invited to take part in the Crafty Cupcakes Design Team for the month of August along with Emma Hudson of Little Crafty Me, you can visit Emma's blog here. We have been given the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set to work with. It also comes with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and you can save 10% if you buy the bundle.

For week one I have made a 3D project using the beautiful Window Box Thinlet Dies. I fell in love with this box immediately I saw it last year at OnStage.

I made the box using Powder Pink cardstock and distressed the edges with Blushing Bride ink. I then stamped three different flowers in Blushing Bride ink on Powder Pink cardstock before die cutting. I also die cut the branches out of Soft Suede cardstock. I cut a smaller hexagon for the top which I stamped with the sentiment 'Life is a beautiful thing'.

I decided to adhere the branch directly onto the box sides but adhered the flowers and top with Stampin' Dimensions to give some height. I finished off with medium pearls in the centre of the die cut flowers and large pearls on the top and a generous brush with my Wink of Stella pen on all the flowers.

I'm really pleased with how it's turned out and I think it would make a perfect Wedding favour box filled with chocolates. I hope you like it too.

Don't forget to hop over to see Emma's beautiful creation here.

Thank you for stopping by this week and reading my blog, I do hope you’ve enjoyed it. Until next week.

Crafty Cupcakes Blog Hop July 2017

Welcome to the Crafty Cupcakes Team Stampin' Up! Blog Hop for July 2017. Each month members of the Team take part in our Team Blog Hop to share with you our cards and projects made using the fabulous Stampin' Up! products. You are currently visiting Jillian Selwood of Purple Jelly Designs based in the UK and below you will see the full list of everyone taking part. To move to the next blog just click the name after mine in the list. This month our theme is Annual Catalogue Favourites and I've chosen to use the Beautiful Bouquet and Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies.

This is the card I have created with this fabulous set.

Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set, Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies

I started off with a card base of Powder Pink, one of the new In Colours for 2017-19. I then embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the new Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (DTIEF), I decided to use the debossed side as I thought it gave more depth. I then layered a piece of  Emerald Envy cardstock and Melon Mambo cardstock at a jaunty angle, this is really not my style at all but I really like the way it looks. I then die cut the stems and leaves in Emerald Envy and die cut three lots of flowers in Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Powder Pink, I wasn't sure which colour to use but when I placed them next to each other I quite liked the effect of different shades of pink. I also die cut the bow using Powder Pink.

To finish off I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and the bow, pearls in the centre of all the flowers and the bow and two large pearls on each of the card layers. I decided not to stamp a sentiment on the front of the card as I just liked the simplicity of it. Before I sent it to someone I will stamp a sentiment on the inside.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge June 2017

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Our challenge this month was set by Hannah McCurley of Stampin by Hannah. For a change Hannah decided to give us a colour challenge, using these colours:

I decided to use the smoky slate as my card base and front layer and to use the other three colours for my sentiment. Firstly I ran the front layer through the new Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I cut narrow strips of Fresh Fig, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral and adhered them to a piece of the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets at an angle and then used the new 'Happy Birthday' die to cut out my sentiment. It was then so easy to stick the sentiment on the front of the card.

Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Fresh Fig

I'm not sure the sentiment stands out enough but surprisingly I do like all these colours together, they are certainly not four colour I would have put together!

I absolutely love the texture you get from this embossing folder, I've zoomed in on the front of the card so you can see the texture, isn't it amazing?

New Arrival

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Jillian Selwood

New arrival, baby girl, card, Stampin' Up! Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs

On the 1st June the brand new Stampin' Up! catalogue arrived. There are lots of new goodies and thankfully quite a lot of stamps, punches and dies are being carried over too.

I took part in a card challenge recently for New Arrivals. I don't have any baby stamps so it was off to Pinterest for inspiration.

I love this baby girl card, I think it's very pretty.

I just loved this idea of a baby wrapped in an envelope, special delivery! Well it appealed to my warped sense of humour!

Wedding Bouquet Card

Purple_Jelly_Designs_Wedding_Bouquet_card

I recently made this Wedding Bouquet card for a Crafty Card challenge I was taking part in. It is made in Blushing Bride cardstock. I was so pleased with it that I decided to make another one in Pool Party (a sort of pale greeny blue colour).
Purple_Jelly_Designs_Jillian_Selwood

Yesterday I went over to Craft and Crumpet in Accrington to take some new stock, 17 cards in total. I took both of these cards and whilst I was having my lunch someone bought the Pool Party card. Shirley asked me to make some more.
