Stampin' Up! OnStage Telford November 2016

Last week I went to the Stampin' Up! OnStage event at Telford with 399 other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. We had a fabulous time. The highlight of the day for me was meeting all the people I interact with on a regular basis on Facebook and have never met. Far too many to mention here but it was amazing to meet you all.

Another hightlight was the swaps. You may remember last week I showed you the swaps I'd made, well here are the swaps I received. I was absolutely blown away by the beautiful things people made. I've also got lots of chocolates and sweeties to last me a little while!

You wouldn't think it would be possible to top the fabulous day on Saturday, well I did on Sunday but you'll have to come back in two weeks time to find out what I did!!

Notelet Wallets

I really don't think I would ever do any crafting if I didn't case other people's work. (Case stands for Copy And Share Everything). Jan Brown is one of my go to people for inspiration and her You Tube tutorials are excellent, She makes everything look so easy. This is another Jan Brown case! Her video is here.

There are super easy to make and have been a real hit at the Craft fairs I have done recently.

In true Jillian form I didn't just make 1! All they take is one sheet of 12 x 12 double sided paper. I have used an extra piece to decorate the notelets.

World card making day giveaway

Saturday 1st October 2016 is World Card Making Day and to celebrate I thought I would have a giveaway.

I recently took part in the Cupcakes and Friends Creative Challenge, we had to make a card from this sketch. 

I am not usually an indecisive person but on this occasion I just couldn't decide which Designer Series paper (patterned paper)  to use so I ended up making five cards!

I was sorting out my craft room last week and discovered that I have a lot of DSP (Designer Series Paper) so I set myself a challenge to use some of it. Making this card was the perfect opportunity,

I have used paper from the Fruit Stand DSP and am rather pleased with how it turned out.

The lovely Keren Howell of Tuppence Coloured designed our sketch this month and here it is:

I just love a clean and simple card and this design is crying out for just that. Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

I've used a base of thick Whisper White Cardstock with a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Pop of Pink collection. Basic black banner and Melon Mambo circle. All finished off with some rhinestones for a bit of bling. I thought the banner was looking a little sad so I scored some lines on it to give it a bit of character not something I have done before but I think it works.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all those fabulous Dad's out there.

Here is the card I made for my Dad, he likes to wear a shirt and tie most of the time so I thought this was so appropriate for him.

I also made a couple of Father's Day cards to sell at Craft and Crumpet over at Accrington.

I've been watching quite a few people using watercolouring on their cards and I just love the effect.

And one for the car enthusiasts

New Arrival

Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Jillian Selwood

On the 1st June the brand new Stampin' Up! catalogue arrived. There are lots of new goodies and thankfully quite a lot of stamps, punches and dies are being carried over too.

I took part in a card challenge recently for New Arrivals. I don't have any baby stamps so it was off to Pinterest for inspiration.

I love this baby girl card, I think it's very pretty.

I just loved this idea of a baby wrapped in an envelope, special delivery! Well it appealed to my warped sense of humour!

Simply Sketched Saturday May Challenge

The lovely Kathleen Rintoul-Waite designed our sketch this month and here it is:

When I saw the four layers I knew I wanted to do an ombre effect. Purple is my favourite colour, just in case you didn't realise! So I went with three shades of purple, the difficulty was deciding on going from dark to light or light to dark. In the end I thought the light to dark was more striking so here is my interpretation.

I have used a Thick Whisper White base, the next layer is Wisteria Wonder, then Perfect Plum and then on top is Elegant Eggplant. The ribbon is Wisteria Wonder and the flowers are die cut with the Botanical Builder framelit dies. I love white heat embossing on dark colours it just looks amazing.

Wedding Bouquet Card

I recently made this Wedding Bouquet card for a Crafty Card challenge I was taking part in. It is made in Blushing Bride cardstock. I was so pleased with it that I decided to make another one in Pool Party (a sort of pale greeny blue colour).

Yesterday I went over to Craft and Crumpet in Accrington to take some new stock, 17 cards in total. I took both of these cards and whilst I was having my lunch someone bought the Pool Party card. Shirley asked me to make some more.
