Card Swap May

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

The theme for last month was Christening. I really struggled with this one as I don't have any stamp sets that say Christening, so I cheated and printed my sentiment.

This is the card I made

Flourish Thinlet Dies, Marina Mist, Christening Card

I used the Flourish Thinlet Dies to make the cross. I adhered the cross on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I'd embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

This is the card I received from Laurie Jennings, it is absolutely beautiful. I do love the cable knit embossing folder it has so much texture.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge June 2017

Thank you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge! We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you.  The products used are all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!® Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep hopping!

Our challenge this month was set by Hannah McCurley of Stampin by Hannah. For a change Hannah decided to give us a colour challenge, using these colours:

I decided to use the smoky slate as my card base and front layer and to use the other three colours for my sentiment. Firstly I ran the front layer through the new Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I cut narrow strips of Fresh Fig, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral and adhered them to a piece of the new Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets at an angle and then used the new 'Happy Birthday' die to cut out my sentiment. It was then so easy to stick the sentiment on the front of the card.

Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Fresh Fig

I'm not sure the sentiment stands out enough but surprisingly I do like all these colours together, they are certainly not four colour I would have put together!

I absolutely love the texture you get from this embossing folder, I've zoomed in on the front of the card so you can see the texture, isn't it amazing?

Pootlers Annual Catalogue Blog Hop June 2017

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

Welcome to our third Blog Hop of 2017. This time we are celebrating the brand new Annual Catalogue that launched on 1st June.

I absolutely love pigs, I think they are beautiful animals so when I first saw the This Little Piggy Stamp set I wanted it. It's made a perfect thank you card for a special friend.

Thank you card, This little Piggy stamp set, 17-19 In Colours

I used one of the new 2017-2019 In Colours, Berry Burst for the card which is topped with the ombre Berry Burst Colour Theory DSP Stack. I stamped the 'This little Piggy' piggy and the 'Says Thanks' onto Whisper White card and then die cut them using the Stitched Shapes framelits. I coloured the piggy with Powder Pink and the grass with Tranquil Tide, these are also new colours. I also gave the piggy a bit of a shine with some Wink of Stella.

I used some Berry Burst ribbon under the piggy and then adhered the piggy and sentiment on the front of the card with stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card I stamped just the body of the piggy and coloured him in the same way.

I hope my friend likes the card although I suspect she will prefer the homemade biscuits which I sent her as well!

Card Swap April

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

The theme for the April Card Swap was Football. Well this was a challenge until I saw my dog, Harley, playing with his football  and there was my inspiration!

Here's the card I made.

Real Red, Football Card, Basic Black, Whisper White, Hexagon punch

I used the hexagon punch and punched out black and white shapes, I was rather pleased with how it turned out. What a perfect card for a football fan.

Exploding box

Jillian Selwood, Purple Jelly Designs, Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Croatia. When we visited Rovinj we bought my Mother-in-Law a lovely owl filled with lavender. Now as you know, as a papercrafter you can't give someone a present with making a box or bag to 'wrap' it in.  This is the exploding box I made for the owl.
